Assemblin performs multi-technical assignment at Saab in Linköping

Assemblin has signed an agreement with Åhlin & Ekeroth AB for an assignment at Saab's new office in Linköping, Sweden. The end customer is Saab AB, Åhlin & Ekeroth is general contractor and the assignment is carried out as a turnkey partnership contract.

Assemblin's assignments include technical installations for power, data, fire alarms, ventilation, building automation, heating, water and cooling. To achieve optimal indoor climate and good energy performance, user-dynamic ventilation is installed in a VAV solution. Instead of traditional HVAC circulation, tap points are placed within the same zones in the building, combined with locally installed hot water heaters.

“With this solution, we can minimize the need for long HVAC pipes, which otherwise often cause significant energy losses. The solution contributes to lower energy consumption, a more efficient operation and a more sustainable installation – completely in line with future demands for smart properties," says Irfan Mesetovic, Construction Manager at Assemblin H&S in Östergötland.

The new building is being constructed to meet increased demand for products and services and ensure an optimal working environment for employees at Saab´s site Tannefors. The building covers approximately 17,000 m2 with capacity for approximately 900 workplaces. The project is carried out in partnership to ensure cost-effectiveness, innovation and high quality throughout the entire process – from planning to completion. Assemblin was given the assignment when Saab and Åhlin & Ekeroth were looking for an experienced partner with specialist knowledge and capacity to deliver a future-proof workplace.

The project is being built according to “BREEAM Excellent” and there are also high demands on capacity and a structured production process as the time aspect is important.

"I am pleased that Assemblin has been chosen as the installer for this extensive project, where not least our expertise and capacity for smart technical solutions played a decisive role," says Fredrik Allthin, CEO Sweden, EVP, Assemblin Caverion Group.

Work has started, including groundwork, and the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2028.
